Joseph K. Dier, Esq.
Owner
For more than 10 years, I have represented employers facing discrimination complaints filed with the NYS Division of Human Rights (DHR) and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Having handled more than 100 such matters, I am well versed in discrimination law and the procedures and strategies involved in resolving complaints. A discrimination complaint is stressful for any business. I have the experience to help you navigate through this process.
I have performed investigations for employers related to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and reasonable accommodations. I also have extensive experience drafting and reviewing policies and providing training on various discrimination-related issues. Such investigations, policies, and trainings are critical to ensuring compliance with anti-discrimination laws. I believe that focusing on these areas allows me to provide the best results for clients.
I have lived in New York my entire life, growing up in Columbia County, going to school in Dutchess County, attending college in Binghamton and law school in Albany, clerking in a Rochester Appellate Court, and, for the last 10 years, living and working in the Capital Region. I am active in my community, serving as President of my community's Homeowners' Association and coaching youth soccer. I live in East Greenbush with my wife, two young children, and two dogs.
